Day one. Legs weary. Mind stretched. Food? Water? SLEEP?
No, no, no. We're still alive and well. But here's my formula:
One baby: not so bad.
Two babies = 10 times the effort.
We were hitting a bit of a routine with Robert; he was more or less keeping to a 3-hour feeding schedule and it would take about 30 minutes to change him, feed him, and get him back to sleep.
With two babies, the change/feed takes about 90 minutes, and the getting back to sleep is a much more tedious task. We were getting good at the 'baby swap' last night, trying to pass the babies back and forth so that they could feed while I changed them or tried to get them to sleep.
Mandy has been relegated to a baby-feeding machine. She does little more than sneak naps and produce milk.
The home nurse came by today, and Miss O is up to 6 and a half pounds!!! We have a pediatrician appointment on Thursday.
I am so happy for you all!! Grinning as I read this!!! Congratulations on having all four of you together at last. Wishing you lots of happiness...... and sleep.
