Rambles & Run-ons: NOW WITH 100% MORE PASSENGERS!

Our Lives Have Changed. So has our blog.
We realize that many of you first started reading when we began a cross-country road trip in June of '09. Just ten months later we are proud to announce the arrival of our twins. No road trips planned just yet, but there are a slew of adventures around every corner.

Happy July

Since it has been a while since my last post, I might as well get proactive and wish you all a Happy 4th of July. I had made a pledge to update the blog during the two day hiatus of the world cup - the first break in the action since June 11 - but alas I was unable.
The kids are ENORMOUS.
OK, maybe not enormous, but they have doubled in size since we've first seen them, with both of them over 8 pounds now. We are still in the newborn size clothing, but the 0-3 month clothes now fit loosely. For reference they are 12 weeks old today (Friday) and will be 3 months on the 9th (so however you like to count you have your numbers).
They are sleeping much better during the night - Robert only woke once last night, while she woke up twice. This means that they are awake and active during the day, and Mandy is hardly able to take a moment to eat and go to the bathroom.
Robert is still a very noisy little boy. He screams at max volume as his bottom lip quivers, its so sad that it becomes adorable. He definitely likes to be held much more than Oneta Simone who can go for long periods just hanging out in her bouncy chair.
We had our first excursion in separate strollers yesterday as they have become too big to both fit into one. Our siblings have handed down two baby bjorns which we prefer to put them in when we have to go to the store. It keeps the gawkers at bay as someone has to get very close to our faces in order to see the kids clearly. Once, Mandy was in Target and they both started yelling. She had pulled Simone out of the stroller but Robert was still screaming. A lady approached and bent down as if to take Robert out of the stroller when Mandy said, NO, please leave my child alone, we are leaving now!
They are seemingly very healthy; we have a doctors appointment for later in the month but we haven't had any issues of kids feeling ill.
